A low-carb recipe greatly lowers down a person’s carbs intake and are ideal for a high protein, high fat and low carb diet. They suit best for the The Ketogenic Diet and Atkins diets. However, they can also be consumed by someone on a healthy diet journey. We can pair these meals with a portion of rice, air fried fries or a slice of bread to add some carbs.
I have written detail of my favorite Low-Carb recipe. It is a great mix of healthy protein (chicken breast), healthy fat (cooking cream) and colorful and nutritious vegetables (capsicum, mushrooms, or even onions can be added) blended with aromatic seasonings.
Low-carb Recipe: Healthy Grilled Chicken with White Sauce
Marinade for 900gm chicken fillets (high-protein, low-carb):
- 2-3 tsp soy and chilli sauce
- 1-2 tsp vinegar
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp salt
- 1-2 tsp ajino moto (Chinese salt) or chicken powder
- 2 tsp crushed black pepper
- 1/4 tsp paprika powder
- 1-2 tsp oregano leaves
Ingredients for sauce (high-fat, low-carb):
- cooking cream
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp salt / ajino moto (Chinese salt)
- 1 tsp crushed black pepper
Additional vegetables:
- 100 grams mushrooms
- 1-2 thinly sliced capsicum
Method
- Keep the marinade for at-least 4 hours or overnight.
- Add 1 tsp of oil (corn or olive) in a non-stick pan
- Add chicken pieces and cook until it leaves water
- Flip sides and cook the chicken until water reduces
- Remove chicken and add mushrooms and sliced capsicum
- Cook for 2-3 mins and add cooking cream
- Add oregano, salt and pepper for sauce
- Cook the sauce for 2-3 mins
- Add cooked chicken and mix well
