How will the recent Abortion Legislation affect Health

The US has recently passed an abortion legislation ban that applies to many states. Abortion is willingly ending the pregnancy phase due to unwanted and unexpected pregnancy. Or at times due to specific health implications that may result in an unhealthy pregnancy. Therefore it can save a women’s life. On the other hand, having the procedure done without a doctor’s advice, consultation and specific tests may be detrimental to the women’s health.

Positive impact of the Abortion Legislation

Abortion is a process that weakens the human body and keeps its effects for long. Many people go for the procedure without any consultation or recommendations. Therefore, it not only ends a new life coming up but may also create trouble for the person going through the process. Some people get it willingly, while some are subject to specific health constraints which end by terminating the pregnancy.

Induced abortions can damage the uterus and affect future childbearing for the mother. Most women develop hypertension, diabetes, heart and blood vessels related diseases, or lung, kidney, and liver-related diseases, resulting in the procedure. The main diseases common in women are due to improper fertility treatments.

To conclude, considering the factors above, the law safeguards women’s health and may reduce fertility issues in the future. However, in some cases, the procedure is a necessity to save a woman’s health.

Negative impact of the Abortion Legislation

A woman is undergone multiple scans throughout the maternity phase. Most medical experts suggest going for an induced abortion if someone is having an underlying life threatening disease. Therefore, though induced abortion may cause many health issues for a woman. But, in these rare circumstances it is the only option.  Some pregnancies also result in abnormal growth of the fetus, with no chances of proper growth. This may also be detrimental to the mother’s health. In such cases, medical experts refer to terminating the pregnancy.

The new abortion laws should consider these risk factors. However, in some states, the law is applied for pregnancies after six or eight weeks. Normally, things go smoothly after this period. In many rare circumstances, a medical urgency to terminate the pregnancy is required after the mentioned time.

To sum up, the law is beneficial for woman’s health. As the legislation in most of the states applies this after the ‘unsafe’ period or the time when more risks are involved. If the procedure is carried out after this period, it can be dangerous for the woman’s health and should be considered a crime.
